The Pennsylvania Department of Aging is the only state agency in Pennsylvania whose single duty is serving people 60 years of age or older and their families. Through our statewide network of 52 Area Agencies on Aging, we provide as many as 50 benefits and services to older Pennsylvanians. |
Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) are the local representatives of the Department of Aging. They are funded by the department to implement the various programs for older Pennsylvanians. They are staffed with caseworkers, skilled in such areas as geriatrics, social work and community resources. |
In addition to the services and programs provided through the Department of Aging and AAA there are other government, private, and non-profit agencies providing services and programs to the senior citizens of Pennsylvania. Where possible this information will be made available through our website. |
